Ya gotta search harder than that. I use more niche sites. PH and XV are basic.

I mean they're right. The problem with PornHub isn't that it's too vanilla or something (I really prefer vanilla) but that almost everything on it is hyperreality. It's the kind of sex that you could, at age 13, imagine is really hot but then grow out of.

Watching it is just distracting and funny, like you're watching a parody of sex. It's hyperpalatable in the way a McDonald's hamburger or a MrBeast video are – which is totally what some people are into.

I don't need a deep, intimate connection with my porn, but I would like to feel like the humans in/creating it might actually be authentically enjoying themselves. That scarcely exists on sites like PH, so why would I waste my time trying to find it?

My man you wrote a whole book but didnt mention any better sites

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 13 points 21 hours ago

I'm starting to think they're all talk and don't even know any awesome secret niche sites.

[-] Stinkywizzleteats@piefed.social 15 points 21 hours ago

they probably don't even use mushed up bananas in their m&m tube

[-] Aneb@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

Why does that seem like a deeper cut than niche porn sites? That being said I'm pretty sure NileRed is as or more popular than some pornos.

[-] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 12 points 21 hours ago

Not just vanilla but unless you got amateur stuff some of the big videos are more highlights and cuts the ending.

[-] LurkingLuddite@piefed.social 1 points 17 hours ago

hyperpalatable

Well I'm glad we have different palates then!

[-] apftwb@lemmy.world 47 points 1 day ago

Ok Lemmy, what is the FOSS porn website.

[-] pressedhams 5 points 23 hours ago

Not FOSS, but still feels like the Xtube used to thisvid.com

[-] criss_cross@lemmy.world 9 points 22 hours ago

They used to be great, but they deleted a lot of their old content and are shells of their former selves. Most of the time they’re 4-6 minute clips.

[-] FinjaminPoach@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

When i was hooked to porn i just used reddit (admittedly only has short clips rather than full scenes but i guess i didn't know that lol) and I don't really get why people would use xvideos and pornhub, because it feels like you're about to get a virus whenever you use them. Whereas you can basically get all the stuff you need from reddit or even twitter at one point in history, and it felt more curated.

So it isn't important but if anyone could help me understand the logic I'd at least expand my understanding of the internet i guess. It's something that still baffles me to this day when i see memes like this.

Edit: who the fuck is downvoting this?

[-] cockmushroom@reddthat.com 30 points 1 day ago

Adblock. The logic is adblock.

[-] FinjaminPoach@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

True, true. I historically was very lazy when it came to adblock.

[-] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

It takes a tiny bit of tuning of if you use NoScript with Firefox you can block individual URLs within the sites as well. A list of 12 urls, find the one for the site you're on and the video being hosted and it'll block everything else trying to call including trackers, ads, "click here to continue".

[-] Aneb@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

Don't, use browsers with built in support like Firefox or Brave (idc if the founder is homophobic, I'm using it to watch gay porn so he can suck it, I know he wants too 😘)

[-] HoneyMustardGas@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

I never got a virus on my android phone. I steer clear of browsing porn on my laptop for this very reason. I am also fighting this addiction, so I am only looking less than half the time. I try to steer clear of it at the same time I fall prey to it. Reddit porn is bogus. I need a story.

Hope it goes well with you, you can always reach out to me as an accountability partner or need to talk through anything regarding it
