I picked out this... thing. The duvet cover had eaten everything in the machine and turned itself into a postmodern textile art piece.
That's exactly why I always tie a knot in the middle of large things like this lol
I never had duvet covers do this. Fitted sheets however 💀. Now, I put them into a big laundry bag I've bought at a large coffee roastery.
You know. I didn’t think about doing that for the dryer. The fitted sheets always eat the rest and then I have a jelly-roll style sheet conglomeration.

You have you keep it somewhat loose, just make it so it can't easily catch other things
I've never had that happen personally.
