It makes more sense when you realize that you are not the target customer. C-suite people are the target customer. They have no idea what real work looks like, so whatever it barfs out looks perfect to them.
The only thing it's really good at is generating bull shit with a very confident tone. So, ironically, the best candidate for its use to replace an entire industry of "jobs" is for replacing CEOs.
But, I say we just get rid of AI and CEOs.
But we don't need replacing them. At all. With anything.
They also have big dreams of finally being able to get rid of all the peasants.
The more I watch them build datacenters and speed run climate change the more I believe this is the "solution" to climate change by the capitalist class.
Clearly we can't change production and economic structures. So, to maintain the systems the only rational solution is a global genocide. /s
This may even be what happens. But, the absolute stupidity is that these oligarchs think they themselves will survive it to decide to the future. This ends in Socialism or Barbarism. And in both of those, their heads don't remain attached.
