Specifically the year 2000, in my own subjective case.
That was not just the year that Dubya was appointed by the SCOTUS.
It was also the year where then prime minister candidate Anders Fogh Rasmussen introduced spin doctors into Danish politics, forever guaranteeing that gaslighting and other disinformation become the majority of public discourse, and everything has been increasingly demagogic since then ๐ฎโ๐จ
