New to midwest.social and lemmy in general and I had a question - I made some posts/comments from lemmy.ml but I noticed they weren't getting any interaction and they weren't actually showing up when I visited midwest.social directly. Additionally, when subscribing to a community, the button turned to "subscribe pending." Does this mean lemmy.ml is blocked here? I noticed there is a Blocked Instances list (https://midwest.social/instances) but lemmy.ml is listed under Linked Instances
You're not the first person to say they're having difficulty seeing posts that come from lemmy.ml. There may be a bug and/or the high load lemmy.ml is facing may have something to do with it as well. What language(s) do you have enabled in your profile settings? As far as the subscribe pending thing try clicking on the subscribe pending button and re-joining the community. Sometimes it takes a second try. Although, some of the communities I'm subscribed to on other instances also say subscribe pending but I still see their posts in my feed.
I can't check right now because it seems like lemmy.ml is down right now (so maybe you're right about that), but I'm almost certain I only have english enabled. I'll re-try subscribing too. I did see there's a github issue that seems somewhat related to this https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/1315
edit: tbh I might just end up staying here; I like it here. Only went on lemmy.ml because it was the first one I heard about.
I know that if you don't enable the Undetermined selection it can hide a bunch of stuff.
Warning users about bugs in your release UI - we are on alpha software here people. :)
Ohh interesting, I'll check on that too
I switched from lemmy.world here because I wanted to be able to easily see these posts in local. I also just joined lemmy though
