U.S. Sen John Cornyn is partnering with U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, a Pennsylvania Democrat, on legislation to stop future presidential administrations from blocking construction of new exports terminals for liquefied natural gas.

That happened under former President Joe Biden when the U.S. Department of Energy stopped permitting new LNG export terminals while it reviewed how emissions from those facilities was impacting the planet's climate.

While Cornyn and Fetterman come from different political parties, the states they represent are the two leading producers of natural gas, representing more than 45% of the country's total output, according to the Department of Energy.

The Biden administration's decision to put a hold on LNG construction in 2024 drew condemnation from oil and gas companies and a number of Democrats, including U.S. Reps. Sylvia Garcia and Henry Cuellar, as well as former Dallas congressman Colin Allred.

Fetterman is GOP. I refuse to refer to him as a D. DINO - Nope! He’s GOP.
