The captive scene with hel, the way the Angel's sacrifice stuck with Christopher, there was some sort of gay relationship being explored there too, Senna in AfricaThose series are very original, creative and progressive in that they have a lot to say that aren't just rehashes of issues already brought up in animorphs or other ya series.
Grant's solo YA series like BZRK and Gone also get pretty crazy
