Hank Wang just announced a triple channel version of the D4K which should go live in a couple weeks.
It will be three regulated channels (per ToyKeeper), 2x, 1x, 1x, most likely with 3535 (XP) footprint LEDs. Anduril 2 has been updated to support more than two channels, and a triple-click will swap between them.
Being a big fan of the dual-channel Hanklights, I'm pretty excited to see this new development. It will allow interesting new possibilities like RGB color mixing or throw + high CRI flood + color (such as Osram W1, Nichia 519A, and red Luminus SST-20). Or any silly 3-LED combination buyers can think of!
Just ran into this posy on lemmys version of r/all. What is the D4K, and how is a triple channel an improvement?
Imagine you need (or just want) to carry several flashlights for different use-cases: seeing far away, seeing nearby, lighting up your campsite with a warm glow, or emitting a specific color.
Multi-channel lights aim to consolidate multiple use-cases into a single flashlight. And although 2-channel lights are available, this might be the first 3-channel available from a flashlight maker who allows customers to customize their LED choices from the factory.
