- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

"Explain to my children.." How about you go fucm yourself, and explain it yourself. "Explain it to my kids.." fuck yo dumbass little oversized sperm cells.
About 2 months ago, my partner and I went to IHOP. As we were eating, these young black women came in. One of em had shorts on that her ass was all out. Now I am respectful, and I don't think low of her, but I also wasn't complaining. Wanna hoe out? Be my guess, I am a slut through and through. Be free.
But I saw my son looking. Know what I told him? "Be respectful don't stare all day. It's just a body part. We all got asses. Just don't be one of those guys who makes a big deal about it."
Nothing hard about that. Went on about eating our food. The world doesn't cater to my son or me. I wouldn't except it. These "Explain it to my kids!" Parents can all fuck off. They're bad parents, and they know it. To lazy or scared to talk about things that make em uncomfortable.
Hey, let's not bring the kids into this. You're not the one who has to live with this thin skinned fascist.
But if Mom wants to lend her little guys to me for a crash course in gender theory, I'm happy to provide.
His kids will be raised to be just like him though. It's not their fault but it's reality. Some rise above in spite of their parents.
Is that what normally happens with kids? Not my experience
I think it statistically is accurate that groups of demographically and geographically similar kids often grow up to have similar worldviews to their parents, but for humans, you can only condemn the individual, not the statistic. Plenty of them will see their 'Bama pawpaw and run in the opposite direction, sure. (Social media may help that trend or hurt it, as algorithmic feeds start to become so customized they replicate local prejudices.)
At least I think they are innocent until proven 18, at which time they can be judged.
But then you leave your home and co-mingle with other demographics and your worldview changes.
Or you don't leave home and never get exposed to or accept other races and cultures.
Yeah, absolutely. That's how it happens for a lot of people, and it's super important not to assume we know what'll happen for any individual. I'd say statistically, there's likely a bias to generational ignorance, but that environment can individually create the opposite effect.
The reason why I'm not sure that statistical bias will be removed in the social-media era is that gen-alpha is extremely algorithmic-feed-influenced, and feeds are now very efficient in taking users down right-wing rabbit-holes. So 'Bama pawpaw's racist/xenophobic views may end up influencing them by a circuitous route just the same.
