Little more complicated. Most Democrats want to let Republicans do what they want because both benefit. The ones fighting for social programs are demonized by the corporate Democrats.

The OOP could be equating corporate Democrats and Republicans (bringing Nazism). Then leaving the other side as actual leftists wanting to bring healthcare

Unfortunately there's Democrat hardliners and neo-liberals who will throw a helluva fit when you point this out to them. They don't understand that neo-liberalism and yes liberalism are ideologies in themselves, and trend more conservative than progressives.

That's the problem with not having a leftist party, just a left-leaning one.
