Meanwhile the local vamps aren't too happy with the Slayer moving onto their turf and wake up an elderly vampire who was snoozing for the better part of the past century and has plans to make his clan feared again. Unfortunately his grandson and the Slayer meet while out and about and hit it off (Buffy & Angel-style).

You can pull season 1 out of that with little effort.
