The Martian is my favorite book and the movie was surprisingly close! Very well made.
Do you have recommendations for a fellow fan? I haven't seen the middle two you mentioned, are either of them similar in style? Like in the nerdy, clever ideas, positive vibes, collaboration, and plausible physics type of way
I suspect it’s a rare movie that can hit all of those themes.
Primer is close, but it doesn’t have positive vibes. It’s quite dramatic and a bit dark.
Moon is another that might be close. It’s not so plausible, it I think you’ll get similar vibes to The Martian.
Last, you might try Mickey 17. It’s a recent film. It’s not realistic, but the vibes are somewhat similar also.
