AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
Interesting that their CTO was also laid off. Makes me wonder if he was deemed 'AI-hostile' by others in the C-suite because he was enforcing human employees. But purely conjecture on my part with that.
No, it's not because of that. It's because he was legit a bad cto. No one at the company liked him.
