Robbing a bank is one of the dumbest reward to risk crimes you can do. If you can tunnel into a vault or intercept a cash transfer that's another story, still the heat taking from banks brings is not worth it.

I think most banks these days don't even have much cash on hand. They probably figure out whatever cash is normally used in a day, perhaps keep 10 to 20% more, and that's it.

So congrats you get 10 to 20 grand maybe in cash. Likely marked somehow. And not only do you get the regular police but you also get the federal police on your tail. Not to mention banks have high def security cameras inside and out. And every street near banks usually has a camera as well so they know where you went!

In the US at least it's usually only a few thousand, they have cash machines they use to limit any amounts in the drawers. And yes, all of those serial numbers are recorded, when they are spent and ran through the system, the feds have a lead. Good luck spending cash nowadays that can't be traced back to you. Plus they drop those ink exploders in there as an added fuck you, to mark all the money.

Nobody is talking about the US specifically though

I mean, the post referenced dollars... so yes I think we were

There are over 50 countries/currencies that use the "$" symbol. I'm counting only the ones that actually use "$" specifically, not the many more who use "$" with an additional symbol/name.

Yeah, I don't doubt the image is about the US. That's why I said "US specifically". My comment wasn't saying "don't talk about the US, this is not about the US". My comment was saying "That makes sense for the US, but we can also discuss it in a wider context, not just regarding the US specifically".
