MODERATORS
Let's say someone is leaving Kansas soon and couldn't care less about having a valid Kansas DL. Can they still demand it from them? Do you not own the ID itself
The point is that their license is effectively considered to be expired. Kansas is asking them to turn the old one in for a new one. Nothing's going to happen if they don't, but then they're just holding onto a worthless piece of plastic they can no longer use.
So it can't be used for voting anymore? What a ripoff.
I don't know about the US but here in Germany you don't, all those official documents are property of the federal republic.
