Memorial to "rif is fun for Reddit" Android app, aka "reddit is fun", shut down after June 30, 2023
Every account I had got perma banned and wiped from Reddit because I was on a temp ban on one of my accounts. I was on one of my other accounts that was older than the one I was temp banned from. Apparently I commented in a sub I had literally zero regocnition I was banned from probably years earlier on the newer account, just showed up on my feed on the other account.
I now cannot even make an account for longer than a few hours before it's scrubbed. I don't have to join a sub, like a post, or make a comment. I'll just make an account, wait a few hours, and get a notification that it's been permabanned.
Lol there goes my plan to sign up using the VPN. Ohh well, it'll probably do me good to get away from it.
Literally have a VPN now in an effort to make a new account. Still got my PC signature and banned me in under 3 hours.
I had that happen for a bit, but I gave it some time and eventually was able to. I suspect they might look at some browser/IP things that expire with enough time. May take a few months, though. For a few months, any account I made using different devices, completely new email address, new browser, whatever - all banned. But then a few months ago I made one and it survived. Well, until now.
I made a top-level comment here, and I did mention that I always observed a 30-day "cooldown" period if I got banned from a sub before jumping back in on an alt.
