You cannot expect to atomize your world into billions of isolated individuals without losing something. We need community, individualism will only get you so far.
That just isn't how the fediverse works. It exists in the moment. If you want it to persist you need to back it up or figure out a plan. Just expecting someone to put up as server for you and leave it up forever is fantasy thinking. Doing it yourself can involve teaming up with people to launch instances or pay for service. The people who don't pay it forward and contribute are leeches, not community members.
Sorry, you're wrong and ironically you are the one who does not underatand how the fediverse works. Lemmynsfw is backed up by every server that federated with it (on a per-community basis). The issue isn't that it doesn't persist (because it does), but that the community and potential for new content from that space is now gone. In the future, please ensure you know what you are talking about before engaging in an argument.
Addendum: Yes we know that you think ml/hexbear/grad are tankies and or .world are a bunch of liberals but it gets old quickly. Try and come up with new material.
This is not the place to start flamewars between Lemmy, Mbin and Piefed.

Perhaps you should have chosen your words more carefully then. You are now describing why my point is correct.
