That's not the electorate we have. We need good candidates to beat bad candidates. Second worst isn't good enough to win. Scream at voters all you want and it won't change a thing. We need better candidates.
We will never get better candidates under a party defined by Citizens United. (So that goes for both DNC and GOP.)
You are expecting legalized corruption to produce viable candidates to serve the people. That's not how corruption works.
