If it's true - fuck that old piece of shit. Should lose his position.

Edit: Damn, a guy can't just make a comment on a meme? I said "if it's true". I really don't care to look into it more than that. It's ok. You don't have to tell me I'm technically wrong because they got fired by someone else for the tweet. Still an asshole move for someone just celebrating.

It's not (entirely) true. Although NASA did initially rescind their offer to her, Hickam actually stepped in to help and convinced them to renew the offer. But only the initial part of the story survives because it's rage-inducing and that is what fuels clicks.. OP should be ashamed for only posting half the story. But here I am "generating engagement" so... here we are...

I’m unsure if his response is more on the policing language side or more on the advisory, watch out, if you’re going to work for a government agency that is funded by politicians there’s a certain expectation for public decorum that has to be maintained so some congressman looking to score points doesn’t use you as a reason to cut funding. My guess, given he tried to help reinstate the internship, is that it was the latter.

If it were the latter he would have written a full sentence. It was scolding and he felt bad. As he should have.

Did you read the article? He said he had nothing to do with, and couldn't if he wanted to, her having her internship revoked. It was a result of her using the NASA hashtag that got the attention of the agency.
