A privately owned fire and police department paid for by insurance would be much more effective than the current system.
Yes, private insurance is the pinnacle of efficiency.
The main advantage of private resource pooling is the complete lack of accountability and oversight.
Just look at the record breaking corporate profits private insurance makes year after year. It must be a good business for everyone. Unlike when the government provides a service and it either somehow loses money to so many overpaid citizens or is a complete rip off tax grab because it clearly doesn't cost as much as the budget.
How's that working out for health insurance?
