$5 a month is all they ask — an absurdly low price for a Lemmyverse of news, education, entertainment, and silly memes.
Side note to anyone who hasn’t ever seen sign language stuff: I went to a performance of spring awakening my college put on. I went to one of the accessible performances where they pay for sign language translators and spot lit them up front alongside the performance.
It was amazing. Added a totally unexpected dimension to the performance. They were able to express EVERYTHING done verbally in purely physical expression. I had no idea it was so expressive.
Most professional theater runs I've found (here in the California bay area at least) have a sign language interpreter at one of the showings. We try to catch that show since my wife signs and it's a dream to do that when she retires from her day job, but it doesn't always line up with our calendar.
