I highly doubt this is a reflection of Australians in general (meaning rural Australia). More like a reflection of Australians in the state capitals who are much, much more progressive.

I mean, most of Australia voted 'no' when it came to indigenous rights recently...

Australia is one of the most urbanised countries in the industrialised world.

Yep, that's definitely true but unless you live here, you most likely won't understand what i would have meant by state capitals.

Australia is generally conservative politically and only last year had a huge ruckus in a lot of our local council meetings with regards to drag queens reading to children.

Additionally, there's nothing in the article or Equality Australia's website as to who and where they polled. My only concern is for a trans asylum seeker to arrive here expecting 91% of Australia to welcome them and end up in one of our many dodgy suburbs and get hurt.

We're still way safer than America, where a lot of refugees are coming from

And thank goodness for that, ay.

Yeah as an indigenous person i was kinda disappointed by that haha.

On the other hand though to move forward as a nation we really need to move on from the past and all be Australian together
