Oh no this one I know is real, I just mean, imagine how incredibly unlikely a story it'd be if they joined Lemmy or a Piefed instance.
They don't really fit bluesky either but it's popular enough I can see them try, lol

Gab and Truth Social use Mastodon as their base, they just don't federate.
Truth social is (or was) based on mastodon, with the federation code removed.
One of those right wing instances started with federation, but after getting counter trolled, mass blocked, and then mass defederated, they called sour grapes and disabled federation
Oh that makes sense, the codes probably open source. Those goons probably have minimal experience actually developing an app from scratch.
It is, but only because Mastodon strong-armed them.
