Ironic, given what Trump is letting Planitir do. The people worried about Big Brother are crying about a broken ice cream machine on a sinking cruise ship. Big brother is dead. Big Data is thriving and doesn't require you to comply with providing information about what you own.
We're probably months away from massive gun control measures that MAGA will celebrate after Trump tells them they have to disarm some imaginary threat from a perceived out group. Then, when they lose their guns, r/leopardsatemyface will be flooded by shocked morons.

To me, Big Data is just a new mask for Big Brother to wear. It’s still, at its core, controlled by people.

It is, but it's much more reckless. The IC took the lesson. The public doesn't support mass surveillance. It will, however, use free services and pay for monthly subscriptions that do the same thing.

Oh trust me I am absolutely opposed tho all of that BS, really hate the portion of the BBB that prevents any regulation on AI as it will prevent its misuse in mass surveillance. I was just focused on the HPA/SHORT act as that was the topic at hand.
