I'm guessing it's a joke about the Halloween candy tradition they have in the US.
In my part of the country we give out fried eggs
Oh, right, that holiday.
Without context, this is just... fine? As long as they wash their hands first.
Still, most trick-or-treaters probably expect something other than a handful of scrambled eggs.

I said it was fine without context.
As in, on a normal day where people are not trick or treating (and therefore expecting candy)... it's fine.
