Gnome is Rethinking Window Management

The GNOME Project is a free and open source desktop and computing platform for open platforms like Linux that strives to be an easy and elegant way to use your computer. GNOME software is developed openly and ethically by both individual contributors and corporate partners, and is distributed under the GNU General Public License.
It’s actually kind of amazing to read this and realize how static these methods have been for so long. It would be a challenge to adapt to a truly new metaphor, I suspect, but probably worth the effort if it means the manager can be “smarter”. I wonder how they are going to amass enough data on user behaviour to make this truly work.
