At least as many believe the bullshit that it will replace all our jobs and therefore we won't have to work anymore.
I work with a lot of people that are a lot less software tech savvy than a below average Lemmy user. Their thought scare me. I spend a lot of time educating them, trying not to be holier than them and all that bullshit.
It's easy to think that your thoughts and those of people that surround you are the "mainstream".
We all exist in our own little bubble worlds. It takes a lot more work than you think to even begin to understand a majority of people.
