Heya, so, not a mod but I have a couple of ideas. Check the wayback machine (https://web.archive.org/) (search for both reddit.com/r/melbourne and /u/[your username]. New reddit is a toxic ass garbage mess and it really kills the wayback machine's ability to archive things, but you may be able to recoevr some stuff.
Next is more technical and probably a lot of work but an old reddit scraping service called PushShift would have archived everything you've ever written (before reddit shut them down in April). they used to publish this data, so if you have the patience and storage space (and download speed), you could download their archives and probably use some sort of tool to refine it down to just your comments.
FWIW i don't think melbs will be private forever, but the thing is we don't know when they'll be back (or for sure even IF they'll be back, though they probably will)
Genius! I’ll have to check using the Wayback Machine tomorrow. Such a great idea. Hopefully it works.
Thank you! I was hoping it might come back on locked even, for 24 hours. We'll see, I understand why it had to happen I'm just a bit perplexed as to why it wasn't in their it will be going private soon post.
