It it simply not true that other (at least well-known) companies have had a wide range of random product types explode or catch fire frequently enough to remark on.

I guess we have different definitions of "casually following the news", then. Because the Vaio incident was around a decade ago, and I was able to recall that off the top of my head due to the amount of articles that were posted about that product, specifically.

if you would stop being offended, you might see that I make a decent point.

Why would I be offended? I own literally zero Samsung products. And not because I'm worried that they'll catch fire; I just don't like their software. I'm not offended, and you still have no valid point, because your "point" hinges entirely on a bandwagon fallacy instead of real data.

What is Cyberpunk?

Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber).
