heres a 30-06 hitting a ballistic gel head with skull inside it.

blows the thing completely apart.

if it hit him in the neck, it would have blown a massive chunk out. at minimum.

Nah, those ballistic gels aren't a good analog for that kind of experiment. They blow apart too easy.
