For context, I saw a Lemmy post about Gamer Nexus' video about their video been taken-down by Bloomberg and seeing the comment of "just use PeerTube then." Which has got me thinking of the sort of content that YouTube channel makes definitely has high production value which unsure if donation would cover the cost but I know they have sponsor. Not sure how they feel about PeerTube but I know Nick (from The Linux Experiment) get sponsors so surely some them are alright with PeerTube then as his is more Linux based that embrace the Open Source ecosystem?

Generally just asking just more me being curious if that can be doable as I love PeerTube but I don't want to have blind optimism where I get pissed off at a content creator for not being on PeerTube and for the audience not wanting to use PeerTube despite hating YouTube so much.

Not via peer tube directly ATM. There's no real monetization etc built in a far as I know still. You could combine it with something like patreon and then yes. Absolutely in theory.

Someone big like gamers nexus might be able to roll support and audience over. Might. But it's not as simple as that either. They would likely end up rolling their own service. Which could bring it's own new legal headaches. They should still explore it. But it isn't a panacea.
