The EU should play his own game and funnel foreign campaign money for none-GOP people through these stores.

Of course we should have done this years ago since at this point we won't have fair elections, but for a brief moment, I was satisfied with my thought.

As long as it’s not Gavin, he really sucks in other ways.

[-] Cornelius_Wangenheim@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

The EU needs to concentrate on keeping its own fascists under control.

I am getting very worried about the UK and Germany. It’s looking more and more like they will be in Russia’s pocket soon enough.

[-] thedruid@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

The uk is as cooked as the us. Those Id laws....

[-] floo@retrolemmy.com 10 points 2 days ago

Somehow, I don’t think the solution to this problem is more corruption

[-] paper_moon@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

I mean at this point I'd try anything to not recreate Germany circa late 1930's...

I really doubt the people in concentration camps would have agreed with "ya know what? Maybe fighting corruption with corruption isn't something worth trying..."

[-] floo@retrolemmy.com 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I happen to know people who were in concentration camps.

They would’ve tried anything to stop it.

And it’s pretty fucking disgusting for you to use the victims of Nazis and the victims of concentration camps to try to make your point here.

Boost people experienced enough torment and torture and horror. Leave them alone and let them rest in peace.

[-] paper_moon@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

You realize I'm arguing to try to stop what happened to them, from happening to others right? So yah, let's use corruption to fight corruption, what else do we have to lose? I'm not really sure why you'd be against trying anything to reject recreating the horrors those people lived through and witnessed.

You're on a moral high horse by telling me more corruption isn't the answer, while also lecturing me about how horrible it was for those people. Let's uh.. Try whatever the heck might work to not have that happen again? Can we agree on that point at least?

[-] floo@retrolemmy.com 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

One does not defeat the monster by becoming a monster. By definition, that means the monster won.

But, since we think it’s such a brilliant idea, how is corruption going to defeat the Nazis then or today? How is more corruption going to end up with us having freedom?

Right. That’s what I thought. Fucking nothing. It all sounds nice until you have to actually think about the results.

So, go on. Tell me how corruption is going to defeat the Nazis. Otherwise, shut up.

If you’re lucky, others will fight for your freedom which you think is so worthless and, instead, hopefully you’ll never experience inside of an oven.

[-] paper_moon@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Lol you gotta chill out dude. We both don't want a repeat of the holocaust, we agree on that.

[-] dansel@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

You got the reading comprehension and reasoning ability of a struggling middle schooler. Whatever school you attended failed you, and I’m sorry for that.

[-] floo@retrolemmy.com 3 points 2 days ago

You’re descending someone who made jokes about the holocaust. Don’t insult me to make your shitty actions appear more palatable.

[-] dansel@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

It’s always amusing when someone manages to prove a point while trying to dispute it.

[-] optissima@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 days ago

I happen to know people who were in concentration camps. They would’ve tried anything to stop it.

So you do support their counter-corruption initiative or no?

[-] floo@retrolemmy.com 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

One does not defeat the monster by becoming the monster. That’s called “surrender”.

And there’s nothing “counter” to the corruption proposed here.

[-] optissima@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago

No, surrender is shutting down minor forms of resistance as you are doing now.

Countering corruption (a) with corruption (b) is countering the original corruption.

[-] floo@retrolemmy.com 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Praising Nazis and the holocaust on an Internet forum is not “resistance”.

And if you think you’re some kind of freedom fighter, we’re all fucking doomed.

You are too stupid and too ridiculous to deserve any more of my attention. You’re blocked.

Go waste someone else’s time sucking Nazi dick and making jokes about the holocaust. Fuck you.

[-] HuskerNation@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

It's become clear republicans have no interest in playing by the rules. I'm long past the point of caring, I just want them to hurt. Corrupt away

[-] Deceptichum@quokk.au 9 points 2 days ago

The EU should play his own game and funnel foreign campaign money for none-GOP people through these stores.

Why? The issue was never one of having too little money. Harris raised far more than Trump and still lost.

Shit if anything maybe taking less foreign bribes and focusing more on their citizens needs might have been a winning strategy.
