Funny how Americans were harping how their guns protect them from a tyrannical government and now that the government is tyrannical it's all crickets.

They have “we the people” flags hanging in their backyards. It makes them feel safe while they bbq.

But the tyrant plays for their team, so it's all good!

The loudest ones are the ones who support this garbage. Please keep that in mind.

[-] BlackArtist@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Nah the loudest ones are the pussies

Yup. Guns are often owned by the most fearful. Some have good reason, but most are just idiots... Hense gun violence.

Since they are so prevalent, there's a good reason to own one in many locations and career paths here. But yeah, it's a mess.

The Venn diagram on that is almost a circle

Besides from pointing out that the guns-are-my-identity people are all ultra-conservative, consider that any violent resistance being planned would not be broadcast.

OPSEC is a thing y'all need to remember that.

Because those same who were loud about their 2nd amendment rights are the ones enforcing this. Not the other way around.

Get ready to be shocked

"Americans" refers to 300 million human individuals.

I guess that was relevant somehow? Just tired of smarmy non-Americans think they're automatically smarter than all Americans and then going on the internet and proving otherwise.

Those were the people stockpiling weapons as a threatening signal to the "undesirables" to stay in their place.

Also, some of those stockpiling weapons and talking about "freedom" get rock-hard over the idea of being deputized by a fascist government so they could do their worst on the "undesirables".

They don't give a fuuuuck about liberty, freedom or any of the litany of other bullshit they and other conservatives have been going on about for decades. None of that is real.

Personal examples: I can name several such people, some of whom are in the United States National Guard, one of whom specifically was interviewed by Newsweek for being one of the jackboots who cleared Lafayette Square so Asset Krasnov could hold a Bible upside down. I grew up with the asshole. He was on record blubbering about how hard it was on the Guard to be being fascist (not his exact words, but the gist of it). He's also all over Facebook spouting some of the most hateful rhetoric you'll see outside Stormfront.

I used to try to get thoughts across to him, to see his point of view and help him see mine. Then I realized it is utterly futile to try with him and people like him, as they only use words as a means of deception rather than communication.
