I'm always out in the woods and imo I think single actions are more reliable than DA or semi autos in that environment. Realistically, the chance of actually needing a gun against 2 legged critters is slim to none, so why not carry something I like.
Makes sense for what you use it for! When Americans talk about EDC they usually mean concealed carry for personal defense, I've seen what you're describing as "outdoorsman" or "woodsman" use before now
I do both! I also carry the SAA for urban edc too. Sure I have other modern guns, but the SAA in 45 colt is a very good round without the recoil, sound, or muzzle blast than 357 mag. I just love it
