Looking for fellow Lemmy RC hobbyists

Fairly new to RC flying here, and looking to connect with other RC pilots. I've had a camera drone for a few years and it's great for aerial pics and videos, but doesn't really require a lot of flying skill, so I wanted to get into fixed wing aircraft. I started with a low cost 3-channel Volantex Ranger to see if I liked it, and I was hooked pretty fast :-)
I saved up my pennies and got my first serious RC plane, the Arrows Bigfoot 1300mm, and it's frikking awesome. I've only had it about a month but I love flying it, so much more challenging and rewarding than my DJI drone. I'm still working on getting my landings consistently smooth, but fortunately it's a very forgiving plane if you come in a little rough.
Just wait until you get into gliders! I have a 2000m powered glider and I have a hard time moving it around the house without bumping it into things haha
Damn you must have an enormous house to fit a 2km glider inside.

What launch system do you use? Bungie, or just hand launch while under power?
I always wanted to get into those discus launch gliders, but the nearest hobby airfield with consistent thermals or updrafts from elevation changes are quite a ways away. I've got a small foam glider, but it's only half a meter wide.
Hand launch but I would love a bungee, throwing it is stressful for me because I’m always worried I won’t get my hands back to the controls in time 😅
Not OP but he's got a powered glider so it's got a folding propeller to get you up in the air, then you can shut down the motor and just soar.
I just watched a review on YouTube of a new powered glider (blanking on the model name) that was 2000mm and it looked amazing 😎
