Not sure if it is literally the same work (can't read the whole article), but if they undermine mRNA vaccine support fir upper respiratory infections like COVID that would negatively impact the continued development of the mRNA vaccines being researched for cancer and autoimmune treatments.

So maybe not direct, but likely leading to a similar outcome of crushing that research too. Especially since they are lying about the vaccines not being effective for COVID. Having it work for something else might make people question their lies.
