Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes
This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.
Basic Lemmy-quette applies. Additionally, since flairs don't exist yet, please do make sure to include a marker to denote what game your post is about in square brackets for clarity's sake. An example could be:
[BB] This enemy is so difficult!
or
[DS1] Anyone struggling with the gargoyles?

I’m doing this as we speak! I just finished refreshing myself on Mint (which was a disaster), openSUSE, and CachyOS. PikaOS is currently installing. Something tells me I’m going back to Fedora once I’m done, but distro hopping is a lot of fun.
Tried loads of them, liked a few, disliked a lot.
Manjaro... never again.
Probably the best I have tried so far:

Hrm... I think I have Signal installed.
Maybe straight from AUR?
I think I used something else to install it but I cannot recall.
Saw mention it is an extra repo and can be installed through pacman that way.
Someone said it is official, but another person warned that AUR is a community thing so not official.
I don't know enough about it honestly.
I can only see Debian distro installation instructions on Signal's site.

I installed arch recently, like it. Soent some time on hyprland, but ended up with gnome. Absolutely satisfied
how do you evaluate distros?
Get a good thumb drive, install Ventoy on it, then load it up with different linux distros.
Ventoy is a tool that makes bootable thumb drives that support as many different images/isos as you can fit on the drive. When you boot to a Ventoy thumb drive, you’ll get a GUI that you lets you select which image you want to boot from.
This makes it simple to quickly test or install a bunch of different distros. Better yet, any distro with “live image” support can be run right off the thumb drive without needing to install it first.
Nah, i was asking by what rules the topic starter estimate and compare different distros. I'm fine with my Arch and don't want to change it
