I think all the attention y’all give to her is what’s keeping this in the cultural spotlight. I basically never think about her, or the books, until I see posts like these on the internet. We gotta separate the art from the artist.
man what a stupid thing to say to a group of people advocating the boycott of someone who is tirelessly campaigning and actively spending more money than god to try to eradicate them for years on end now.
we're not upset that we had to think about her you colossal moron, we're upset because she is using her money and influence to do untold harm to trans people at large, meanwhile the public ignores us and continue giving her money anyway, telling themselves excuses about the art and the artist or whatever.
THE ART FUNDS THE ARTIST, AND THE ARTIST IS TRYING TO GENOCIDE US YOU FUCKING MOOK. and the only way to not realize that this is what it's about, is to be actively ignoring us about it.
this is exactly like the Chik-Fil-A people funding programs to mentally abuse queer kids into being "straight" and you assholes shrug and go "it's just a sandwich and i like it" as you continue to actively fund god damn child abuse. except it's at an even larger scale.
and here you are condescending to us about it, because you're comfortable sticking your fingers in your ears. walk into the sea please.
