Because launching them into the sky and letting the ground do the killing impact looks better for the numbers?
with a tall flat front the entire kinetic energy gets transfered directly into the child. with a sloped lower hood this doesn't happen. you might end up tumbling over the hood but that's actually desired. the kinetic impact is way lower, resulting in higher survival chances.

The lower hood is so you can SEE THEM, AND NOT HIT THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Homie's never played GTA in the relaxed, follow the rules of the road kind of way and I think that's sad. 🙁
