I highly doubt that the Cyanide and Happiness creators would label themselves as leftists, even in the watered-down US understanding of the term.

They've always been very happy to be openly offensive to the point of misogyny/ableism/toxic masculinity in their art - not typical earmarks of a leftist.

P. S. I don't really have beef with c&h, the whole "we're not [label] because we insult everyone" just doesn't really ring true for me when it's four wealthy white dudes 'punching down' often. Or two ultra rich white dudes like Matt & Trey of South Park. Funny sometimes - but you're still a dick when you punch down on communities you're not part of and you don't really know.

Edit: wrong "we're" 🥲

That's a good point, and explains the existence of this comic. They're anti-WN but still have some regressive attitudes.

I'd argue it's less regressive and more preemptive. I'm a strong believer that people can grow and be better at any age.

Even Nazis. However, the energy and time and resources and risks to do so for THEM is almost never worth it for the small glimmer of a chance, which is why the saying is "the only good Nazi...", because to get there, it's so far evolved in that direction, you're so far corrupted, that it takes a Herculean effort to bring you back to a functional society.

Like, it's kind of like deep depression, honestly. The stark fundamental differences and the effects and risks, though, are why, ethically, we, generally, treat depression and eliminate Nazis. Not always. Not in every circumstance. But we must at least say so, specifically, due to the nature of each.

A wild, rouge thought appeared just now: what if we flipped that? What if we threatened to kill depressed people and preached treating nazism? ...Fascinating. I do have more thinking to do.
