I'm just going to recommend three books with "hollow" in the title.
Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton
The Hollow Places by T Kingfisher
House of Hollow by Krystsl Sutherland
Thank you, they all sound really interesting ... especially the first one!
I just finished The Hollow Places, it was enjoyable but I got snagged on the number of bad decisions the protagonist made when they were then pointed out explicitly as being bad decisions in the text, rather than just rolling with it.
I think writing first person is very difficult though!
