How is that programmer humor of all things and how does that need ai?
Using Ai in the old sense and not LLM.
What's the old sense? A program? "AI" didn't exist in the old days and it doesn't exist now.
The logic here is like 3 lines of code maybe? The ubiquity of "AI" grifting has made language meaningless.
In the sense that the enemies in the first Doom had "AI".
"AI" has existed since the 70s in terms of computing. In terms of the theory, much further back.
It was actually the 50s, commonly attributed to John McCarthy.

Sure, but it wasn't really possible to code the stuff they wanted to at that time.
Yeah, AI was totally never used to describe the logic behind NPC actions as far back as the Atari days.

Well it's comedy (even if you don't agree, thats what he's going for).
And ai is commonly used as a catchall term for any program doing some kind of automation.
