Eh, I honestly don't use YaST very often. I'm going to try out Cockpit and see if it can replace YaST for me.

YaST used to be the reason to use openSUSE, but that has changed for me, and now the reasons are:

  • OpenQA and the resulting high quality packages
  • variety of distro options all in the same family, from release based to rolling
  • OBS - I haven't needed it, but I like that it exists

I don't need openSUSE to have some killer feature, I just need it to be solid. So if cockpit is a good replacement, I'm all for it.
