The city of Vaughan, ON Canada has decided to fly the Israeli flag to celebrate their “Independence”.

Vancouver used to recognized various nations' day of independence by lighting up city hall in themed colours. Last year there was an argument about whether or not Palestine should be recognized; as a result, the whole thing was canned and they don't light up for any other nation anymore.
