Read the article and everyone in those massive communities that train firearms and survivalism are Republicans.
None of you lefty/Democrats reading this comment own guns or are interested in training in large communities, so these Republicans will wipe you off the map when Orange fascism takes complete control. Prove me wrong, link me your large lefty gun group.
We don’t feel the need to broadcast it, or make it part of our personality.
But don’t equate that to not knowing how to use or not owning them.
I'm a left-leaning gun owner, and I don't buy that. "We're ready and organized...but we're a super secret dark brotherhood so we can't show you!" does not inspire confidence.
For every one of us there are probably 6-12 MAGA zealots by my estimation (vibes-based, admittedly).
There are magazines that hold 60+ rounds.
That the opps can obtain just as easily.
I'm no Delta operator, but I think it's generally a bad thing to be outnumbered in a gun fight. Especially if you're by your lonesome, just means you'll get outmaneuvered and destroyed if you can't escape quickly.

I’m left in Canada which is the US equivalent of a more left leaning Bernie Sanders. I’m a veteran, I have a rifle, and I support increased gun controls. Granted my rifle is hot pink so it’s not exactly combat ready.

You are a peaceful person trying to be pacifist in a world that never respected such things, only tolerated it. Now only threats of actual violence is capable of changing anything within our lifetimes. Deterrence used to be simple political willpower and negotiating, now only physical posturing is. You remind me of my brother. He was taking a medication that caused some intestinal issues. While going to my sister's wedding, he stopped at a Safeway and asked to use the bathroom. The manager said that it is closed after 9:00 so my brother went back to his car, got a roll of toilet paper, then went back to the entrance of Safeway and pooped inside. He needed to project his internal feelings at other people or the places and was actually proud of himself. This is one of many reasons that I keep a polite distance from him. There are far better ways to interact with the world, and that starts with figuring out what triggers feelings of insecurity and working on them.
I dunno, "I can shit in your toilet or I can shit on your floor" is a pretty powerful message. Maybe the manager will be more open to those in intestinal distress in future.

Lol, what sort of manager can't open a toilet? He didn't want to. Frankly, I've spent years at a time where being more than an hour from a toilet was not a possibility for me and of the hour long window I had discomfort started at 10 minutes by 60 I was in pain and at real risk of shitting myself. I've never shat on anyone's floor but i have zero sympathy for someone who lacks the basic humanity to open a shop toilet for someone in need.
It's a high-crime high-drug use area. This policy is on purpose. His needs are secondary to their security.
