This community is inspired by the concept of text that conveys opposite messages when read in a different manner. While it shares similarities with !dontdeadopeninside@lemmy.ohaa.xyz and !nosafetysmokingfirst@sh.itjust.works in that all of these play with the idea of misreading text, YDMGU specifically focuses on phrases that can be read in both directions, with each interpretation being valid and opposites of each other.

Well the good news is the concept of "consent" is being talked about, if somewhat imperfectly.
Back In The Day there was no concept of consent. Even in the courts. That's the whole "you were wearing these clothes so you wanted to be attacked" thing. Which we just saw in the headlines the other day from some evangelical chud or other (or was it a judge? Whatever).
