whats everyone running around with for a backpack? I've got a cheapy dell from ozbargain which isnt bad, but its pretty big and heavy for not great storage options and its a bit ostentatious. Eyeing off a Status Anxiety "Good Kid" and a Bellroy Classic.

I have this one from Aussie disposals. I love it. So many pockets.

I bought one from Vic market for my daughter but she isn't using it so I am lol. First time I've had a pink girls bag in my life. It has a matching coin purse πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ€£

I have two old crumplers. The bees knees messenger and the ultimate wine bar backpack. While nor perfect, they'll last forever so I'm unlikely to replace them.

Dont mind one of the new crumplers but 280 is taking the piss when there are options at half the price.

[-] dumblederp@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago

There's probably a second hand market for them, and probably whatever else you're considering, if you're looking at quality. I wouldn't pay 280 for either of the bags I've got.

Do yourself a favor - go the the nearest op shop/Vinnies/Sacred Heart. They ALWAYS have a shittone of backpacks for purchase at very reasonable prices. Quite high end ones too. Just check any purchase for freeloaders before taking home. Or vacuum and freeze to kill any such freeloaders.

I'm in the market for an upgrade too. Need something to carry laptop, lunch and train ride reading material

[-] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago

Bellroy transit workpack. Good pockets. Keeps laptop separate from lunch.. nice shape too. I like a squarer shape. Currently a big in love with the look of the Fjallraven Kanken stuff but can't justify a new one.

[-] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago

initially really interested in the transit but I thought it might be a bit too big?

[-] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago

Nah I have the workpack which is the smallest of the transit line. 20L IIRC. Perfect for laptop+cable stuff, notebook pens, lunch, phone etc. and space if I need to chuck in a jumper or a raincoat or something. And I am a shortarse - I don't find it big. I used to have an even smaller one but was commuting and just needed a bit more space.

I invested in a good one as I take my backpack everywhere. Don't have it right now but it was $160 from JB Hifi
