Republican President Donald Trump said on Sunday he was not joking about seeking a third presidential term, which is barred by the U.S. Constitution, but that it was too early to think about doing so.

Trump, who took office on January 20 for his second, non-consecutive White House term, has made vague allusions to seeking a third one but addressed it directly on Sunday in a telephone interview with NBC News.

"No, I'm not joking. I’m not joking," Trump said, but "it is far too early to think about it."

"There are, there are methods which you could do it, as you know," he said. He declined to elaborate on any specific methods.

eh I just spend the whole biden admin watching press releases, speeches and fighting with republicans about his dementia. Turns out it was total hypocrisy and like bidens age, not an issue with trump.

I really don't care who you voted for if you are still spending time talking about bidens debate blunders, I know which candidate you helped get elected. Your words did more than your vote here.

Maybe you should think about the criticism and the timing. Because it was poorly timed in 2024 and completely irrelevant now. We all want younger sharper candidates. having biden step down should have happened in 2022 and not 2024. That was a mistake.

Trump is also experiencing mental decline, no doubt. It's just not as sharp a decline as Biden's, nor has it progressed as far. I'm definitely talking about both though. I didn't want either of those creaky old space cadets running anything more important than a fucking bake sale.

And no it isn't particularly relevant, but I wasn't the one who brought it up, the person I was replying to originally did. Don't give a fuck about the timing though, as previously mentioned I am capable of criticizing multiple things at the same time. I do agree that Biden should've stepped down in '22 tho, or, worst case, just not run in '24.

Fair, sorry i've just been seeing that opinion pop up in too many posts. I never had to worry about anything during the biden administration. I was embarrassed by 3-4 gaffes and nothing he did remotely came close to threatening Canada and Europe. Which trump is doing in pre-dementia. If biden was so incompetent in his final years in office, I failed to notice it. I always saw a strong competent leader who was doing his best for the country. I saw half america spitting on him as he helped them with real problems in their life. It's just a bad look to be trashing biden with trump doing a hitler/putin dictator speedrun. You're allowed to have multiple opinions just don't respect the opinion that biden was unable to lead the country. We ended the 4 year term in strong footing and its all been destoryed in 20 days because Kamalas laugh was on Tic Tok more than her policy. I hate it here.

Fair enough. I try to have more nuanced opinions than 'both sides bad', but.. :P

You're right though, I'm sweating a lot more in this administration with their attacks on social security (I'm on disability), shitting on our allies, going after our neighbors, etc etc. I had no illusions, I knew another Trump term would be worse by far than another Biden term. Mostly my argument about Biden's mental decline isn't that I don't want a dementia patient running the country because apparently that's not a choice we get to make, but rather that a lot of people weren't going to vote for him based on those issues and especially after the debate.

You do make a fair point though about trashing Biden (which really wasn't my intent anyway) while Trump and his pals are doing their best Sieg Heil impression, I need to be more aware of that perception and make sure I'm more clear about it when I do cause I don't want anyone to get the impression that I think Trump is better in literally any way whatsoever.

Yea I dealt with my trump voting buddy for 3 years while he sent me shit about Biden starting WW3.

Trumps like balls deep in WW3 now and my buddy refuses to discuss it. Like bro i spend 3 years calming your fears and watching biden so you didn't have too. And now your guy starts WW3 and you're not even gonna tell me its gonna be okay!?!?!?

We both trade stocks so same thing with the market "hey bud the market may never recover from Trump and you may lose all your money and have to go back to work"

He does not care.

So part of my both sides shit is just frustration from having republican friends who are both sides bad until trumps in office and then its like. See no evil hear no evil, quit over reacting lib....

Also i've studied history and presidents. In 30-40 years from now we will be discussing the biden presidency in a very postive light. He looks like an actual genius inbetween two trump terms. I'm tired of hearing about him, tired of having to defend him. He did the best he could with the America we have. Can't say that about trump.

Yeah, fair enough, I definitely get that frustration. A friend of mine is a former Trump voter who was in a similar situation. During Trump's first term he was all like 'You don't actually dislike him you're just jumping on the 'orange man bad' bandwagon', and I'm like.. yeeeeeah, when you start telling me what I think there's not a lot of conversation left to be had there. :P
