It's wild to have any faith that they'll give up any power. Even on the actual slim chance that Trump leaves the white house peacefully if anyone they deem not the right candidate they'll just claim the election was rigged. This is just how it is now.

No, unfortunately Trump is destroying major parts of how America works. But take action, believe in the cause. Patience will be a must, to restore america after all of this. It is more than just Trump. The US is a democracy and thus any government is a result of the will of the people. Europe doesn't trust Trump yes, but neither the population of the US who voted him to office.
