I guess I don't see how attacking the property of a hard working individual, who's political stance you don't even know, would be beneficial to making Musk feel some pain. Hate on Tesla all you want. Clearly the world feels the same, based on their poor sales. That's where the real damage will come from. I just don't think we should be attacking the properties of individuals.
Burning Teslas in the dealership lot is short term pain, quickly recouped by insurance claims. Making people afraid to buy Teslas at all has the potential to kill the entire company in the long term. And that’s not something that can be recouped by an insurance claim or a corporate reorganization effort.
Property is less important than democracy and the social contract. Insurance will cover the body work.
The aggregate effect of multiple counts of vandalism is real and substantive harm to a man who is attempting a coup of the US government.
